Don’t tell me not to panic. The damage is done. Imagine what it’s like to be an EU migrant in the UK right now - especially one who doesn’t pass for American most of the time like I do. Imagine what it’s like to be British right now, but look different from the Farage/Boris crowd, or sound different, or have a different religion. Imagine what it’s like to have discussed and fought and canvassed and tried with your all your might to get as many people as possible to vote Remain, and wake up to this.

I’m not panicking, I’m grieving. I’m horrified. And “oh you’re not getting kicked out right now this second” isn’t comforting, because it’s not why I’m hurting. I’m hurting because of the suffering this has already caused, and will keep causing. I’m hurting because it was caused by the lies and folly of a few powerful elites willing to exploit the desperate and afraid, and turn us all against each other.

And please at least today can we not make this about America?

Can we talk about how Dean Winchester, when confronted with God, the immortal being who sent him, and his brother to hell, he brings up the other people God has abandoned.

That’s what always breaks my heart as a Dean fan.  His pain is ALWAYS LAST.  He puts everyone else’s hurt and pain before his own.  Despite being the first to experience hell; despite being in jail for decades; despite having been the first pawn for heaven, it’s the centuries of other other peoples’ pain that he chooses to use to confront God.

You’re better than everyone, Dean.  You are.
